The 50MW Chania wind power project is located in Kajiado, Kenya, roughly 30 kms southwest of Nairobi. The project will sell power to the government utility, Kenya Power, via a 23km 66kV transmission line. The project is in late-stage development, with some limited construction having already commenced.
Frontier Involvement
Frontier is lead developer and funder of the project, and in September 2020 Frontier Fund II became majority owner of the project company, Chania Green Generation Limited. Frontier Fund II will also fund the project’s construction equity.
