The BVC Geothermal project is a 140 MW geothermal power project is developed in two phases of 70 MW utilizing the steam resources in Barrier Volcanic Complex, in the Northern part of the Kenyan Rift Valley. The project is located immediately South of Lake Turkana, Kenya. The project will be connected to the Kenyan national grid. The project is currently conducting surface exploration.

Frontier Involvement

Frontier Energy II is a substantial shareholder in Olsuswa Energy, the company holding the Geothermal License and BVC Geothermal Limited, the company developing the first phase of the project. Together with Kenyan shareholders, the Fund also has a right to develop further phases of the project with a view to contribute to the development and provide equity for the construction of the project.
